Couple makes "history" at museum

RIPLEY, Miss. (AP) - A northeast Mississippi man had to convince his girlfriend to get dressed up for a visit to the Tippah County Historical Museum. She didn't understand why until they got to a display case holding an engagement ring and a card saying "History was made at the museum," the date and their names.

Then Brian L. Jones of Chalybeate (kuh-LEE-bee-uht) got down on his knees and proposed to Kayla Watson of Baldwyn

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/VDe5o5) reports that they've dated for several years, and had set Feb. 23 as their wedding date.

Watson says the proposal was a complete surprise.

Only the couple and museum personnel were there.

Watson says she immediately told her mother, posted a description on Facebook and began calling and texting friends to tell them.
