WASHINGTON (LIN) - Missing the deadline and after much political wrangling, a fiscal cliff deal was reached; brokered by Vice President Joe Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. The measure passed the Senate by a lopsided 89-8 vote more than an hour and a half after the country fell off the "fiscal cliff." In all, only three Democrats and five Republicans voted "nay." The House is expected to vote on the measure Tuesday afternoon.
