Simple crocheting, something I learned from my great-aunt Ruth many years ago, is the perfect way for me to turn my brain off and detach from the daily grind. A few balls of yarn and a pair of scissors and I’m ready to crochet the troubles of the day away.
Step-By-Step: Simple Crocheted Scarf
Finger crocheting can add a little bit of zen into your after-work routine. It’s a simple way to relax while flexing your creative muscles. Quickly crochet a simple scarf or with a little more diligence, create a beautiful floor rug.
Make It: Finger Crocheted Scarf
What you'll need:
Step-By-Step: Simple Crocheted Scarf
Make a slipknot. To do that you need to make a loop in the yarn and pull the shorter end of the yarn through to form a loop. Make sure you tighten the knot, but not the loop.
Place the loop over your index finger and pull the yarn until the loop is secure, but not too tight. You’ll be maneuvering the yarn through this loop, so you’ll need a bit of slack.
Take the long part of the yarn and wrap it around your finger. Push the first loop over this yarn and off your finger. You’ll have a new loop!
Repeat this until you’ve gotten the crocheted length you want.
Cut the yarn and pull it through the last loop, leaving a few inches of yarn on the end to tighten.
Tie the opposite ends together. You’ll have a really huge loop.
To wear simply twist it in a few smaller rings that are large enough slide it over your head. The rings don’t have to be the same size.
Now it’s ready to wear!
