ANCHOR/REPORTER – NEWS DEPARTMENT

WDTN-TV is accepting applications for a Weekday Morning Anchor/Reporter. The person will co-anchor weekday newscast as well as, general assignment reporting. Candidate must be an aggressive, experienced broadcast journalist with several years of anchoring and reporting experience. Person must be willing to write stories for newscast, enterprise lead story ideas and be a team player. The candidate must also compliment other co-anchors and have a proven track record of attracting news viewers.

Anchor/Reporter must be self motivated, energetic and can communicate well with viewers from the anchor desk, live shots and in package form. The candidate must have excellent writing and organizational skills, a thorough knowledge of anchoring and reporting techniques, a strong knowledge of current local/national/international events as well as be proficient with social media platforms.

Applicant should be able to work any shift. Degree in broadcast journalism preferred. Candidate also required to make regular public appearances representing this award winning news department. Person must be physically able to perform all essential functions of the job on a regular basis. No phone calls please.

POSITION: WDTN/WBDT-TV DESIGN DIRECTOR

JOB SUMMARY: Oversee every phase of graphic design for WDTN/WBDT-TV. This includes day-to-day administration of the identity and look of our station brand. Design news and station animations that coincide with the look of the on-air product. Assist in graphic design for multiple levels of wdtn.com/daytonscw.com. Design any print collateral needed for newspaper, magazine or event program pieces.

TYPICAL DUTIES: Conceptualize and create all on-air graphics for news department. Work with promotion department in developing animations and promos that coincide with station brand. Assist with commercial production with any animations or graphics needed for potential clients. Assist with WDTN/WBDT-TV station tent for events that we are a media partner. Conceptualize, create, and assist sales department for any potential sales collateral. Create and produce any print pieces for newspaper, magazine or program pieces. Create and produce any web graphics for wdtn.com/daytonscw.com. Oversees all station photography for talent, staff, and other projects.


QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of three years of experience in television graphic design  Advanced Photoshop, AfterEffects, and Illustrator experience required. Self-starter able to complete projects at a high quality level in a timely manner. Must be able to work on various projects simultaneously and to deliver finished projects on deadline. Must have highly effective communications skills. Must be highly organized. Animation, LightWave, DEKO, non-linear editing, and strong technical knowledge.

STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE: Performance will be evaluated by the Creative Services Director.

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE– SALES DEPARTMENT

WDTN-TV and WBDT-TV, Dayton’s newest duopoly, is accepting applications for an experienced Account Executive.  Prior media and/or sales experience preferred.  College degree with a major in advertising, marketing and/or communications is desired.  Individual must be an enthusiastic, aggressive, self-starter with a winning attitude.  Outstanding verbal and written presentation skills are required.  Candidate must have their own transportation and auto insurance, and have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.  Ability to develop new business, direct business and digital media revenue is important.  Computer proficiency required.
