CHARLESTON, ILL. (WDTN) -

The Wright State men's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with its second straight road win, a 56-44 decision at Eastern Illinois Tuesday night.

WSU trailed 7-2 with 13:36 to go in the first half before the offense finally started to click, resulting in a 12-0 run over a 3:25 span to give the Raiders the lead.  JT Yoho put Wright State ahead 9-7 with three at the 11:26 mark and the freshman forward connected on another triple just over a minute later to cap off the run.

A 10-0 burst later in the half increased the margin to 28-14 and the Raiders went up 32-17 at the break thanks to a Reggie Arceneaux three and a Yoho free throw in the closing minutes.

After hitting just one of its first seven shots, WSU hit 10 of 16 attempts the rest of the half to finish at 48 percent and was six of seven at the foul line while the Panthers shot 25 percent overall and were just one of 11 from three-point range.

The Raiders maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half, with the biggest differential being 47-27 following another Yoho three with 8:18 remaining.

The 2-0 road start is the first for WSU since winning its first two road games at Northern Illinois and Tennessee State during the 2000-01 season.

Wright State shot 42 percent overall on the night and made 14 of 21 foul shots while EIU shot 37 percent.  WSU also led 37-24 in rebounds.

Yoho paced all scorers with 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Raiders while Kendall Griffin added 11 points and Arceneaux 10.  AJ Pacher had eight points and Matt Vest chipped in six points, eight boards and three steals.

Alex Austin led Eastern Illinois (0-2) with 11 points while Sherman Blanford had 10.

Wright State, now 2-0 for the first time since also starting the 2007-08 campaign at 2-0, opens the home portion of its schedule on Friday as the Raiders host North Carolina A&T at 7:00.
