FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) - Jerren Young came off the bench for 23 points to go with six rebounds as Wright State defeated Horizon League foe Cleveland State 69-53 Wednesday night for the Raiders' four straight win.
Young went 8 of 11 from the field and sank all four free throw attempts in just 21 minutes of action for Wright State (12-4, 3-0). Kendall Griffin chipped in 12 points. His three-point play midway through the first half gave the Raiders a commanding 50-36 lead.
Wright State shot 46.2 percent (12 of 26) from the field in the first half and made seven 3-pointers in the period to take a 35-17 lead into the break. Cleveland State (9-8, 1-2), conversely, made just 6 of 23 shots and committed 11 turnovers in the opening frame.
Bryn Forbes led Cleveland State with 15 points but leading scorer Charlie Lee was held to four points on 1-of-11 shooting.
