Indianapolis, In (WDTN) - The Super Bowl came to a sudden and painful end for a Springboro grad who is celebrating his first championship.
Former Springboro Panther and Ohio State Buckeye Jake Ballard, will get a Super Bowl ring, but he was unable to finish Sunday's game.
Just over three minutes into the fourth quarter, Ballard suffered a meniscus tear in his right knee.
It was originally diagnosed as just a sprain and Ballard could be seen on the sidelines testing it out, but falling to the ground in pain.
Ballard was the second Giants tight end to go down in the game. Earlier in the first half, Travis Beckum suffered a torn ACL.
Ballard had two catches for ten yards in New York's thrilling win over the Patriots.
Ballard, a restricted free agent this year, was also hampered by a right knee injury earlier this season, but is expected to be 100 percent on both knees when training camps open this summer.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
