DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain and sleet. The advisory is in effect Monday morning until 8 a.m.
The counties affected are: Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hardin, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Preble, Shelby, Union, Warren.
Ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch are expected before temperatures rise above freezing later this morning.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of freezing rain and sleet will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
As of 7:30 a.m., more than 35 area schools have announced delayed openings.
