DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - There is a solar eclipse happening right now across the Pacific Ocean and western United States. Here's a link to the live images from The University of New Mexico's sun telescope.
The eclipse is also visible from the GOES satellite image. Click here to see a loop of the clouds. If you notice a shadow figure that is the eclipse.
An eclipse happens when the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. The moon blocks out a part of the sun. The next solar eclipse will happen later this year but will be visible only near Australia.
