HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - Teachers, a campus safety officer, extra curricular athletics and clubs are among the proposed cuts that will be discussed at tonight’s Huber Heights City Schools board meeting.

The proposed cuts come as part if the district’s efforts to curb costs after voters rejected the district’s request to increase a tax levy. As a result, the district faces a $2.7 million deficit by 2014 and the possibility of state fiscal oversight

The proposed cuts, outlined by documents prepared for Thursday night’s board meeting include the district’s athletic director, ROTC program and more than 20 teachers.

The Board of Education will discuss the cuts as well as propose a levy be placed on an upcoming ballot, allowing voters to have a say in whether or not the district will cut the jobs and programs.
