DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Federal employees in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio face 14 days off without pay due to sequestration. There are about 130 people working in The Southern District of Ohio which covers 48 counties.
A spokesman for the office, Fred Alverson, told 2 NEWS as it stands right now the furloughs would start in April and would have to be completed by the end of the fiscal year, that being September 30. No other details were available.
Alverson said the managers saw this coming and will be working with the courts to make sure hearings are covered.
The Southern District of Ohio has offices in Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. Staff members handle criminal and civil cases.
