COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) - The results have been tallied from a three day marijuana interdiction and eradication blitz by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Indiana State Police.
In the period from Sept. 7-29, the enforcement effort netted 32 felony and 152 misdemeanor marijuana related drug arrests. The agencies also seized over 94,000 grams of marijuana and a total of 14,126 marijuana plants.
“Successful multi-agency enforcement efforts, like the one this past weekend, illustrate the collective power of making our roadways and communities safer for everyone,” said Colonel John Born, Patrol superintendent.
The multi-agency enforcement effort is part of the 6 State Trooper Project, which is aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
The Patrol continues to urge motorists to call #677 to report impaired drivers or drug activity.
