2-year-old drowns in Ohio swimming pool

OWENSVILLE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in southwest Ohio say a 2-year-old boy has died after apparently falling into a swimming pool.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Jared Lee Tincher died after being found in the pool at his grandfather's house in Clermont County Sunday morning.

The boy's grandfather, Chris Borke, said his daughter, her husband and her three children moved into the house east of Cincinnati about two months ago as they saved up to buy a house.

He said he didn't know how the child got out of the house and into the pool. The family had last seen Jared when they put him to bed the previous evening.

Medics at the hospital worked for three hours trying to revive the child before pronouncing him dead.
