ROCKFORD, Ohio (WDTN) - The Mercer County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in the town of Rockford, northwest of Grand Lake St. Marys.
2 NEWS has learned a shooting occurred around 11 a.m. at 509 West North Street, just a stone's throw from a baseball field.
Police arrived on the scene and found Melinda Shinn, 26, dead. The was blocked off and evidence collection teams combed the scene for clues.
A Cadillac sat in the driveway in front of a half-dozen evidence marker cones.
Deputies are looking for a suspect they believe is driving a red Ford Explorer with an Ohio license plate number EHU 5441.
They have identified the suspect as Daniel Martin, 40 and have issued a warrant for his arrest for murder.
The Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference Friday morning at 9:00am.
