WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a crash kills four people.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Troopers stated 40-year-old Joshua Nkansah was traveling south in the northbound lanes on I-75 and struck another vehicle head-on.
According to officials, Michelle and Scott Barhorst and their children were traveling from Tennessee up to St. Mary's for Christmas when Nkansah slammed into them.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol stated Michelle and Scott Barhorst were killed in the crash. Joshua Nkansah and his seven-year-old son David also died.
Five others were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
The accident shut down the highway for several hours Sunday morning.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but troopers believe alcohol could have played a role in the accident.
