SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) - Funeral services were held for the Springboro teen tragically killed in a car accident Nov. 1.
Hundreds of people gathered in the auditorium at Springboro High School Monday evening to honor Shaun Frechette, 17.
Frechette was a junior and competed on the high school's football team.
The players arrived to the funeral wearing their uniforms in honor of Shaun.
"It means the world right now to show up and do everything possible to support his family and be with them," said Cody Barth, who is a senior on the football team.
The panthers weren't the only ones dressed in uniform. Football players from Bethel High School also came to pay their respects to the 17-year-old.
"Football is a game of brotherhood and I think all football players around here are like brothers," said James Plyphrey, who plays for Bethel High. "It doesn't matter where you're from."
Students at Springboro marked a majority of the attendance at the funeral.
"This week has been very hard for everyone at the school," said Zach Adkins, who is a junior at the school.
A fund has been set up to help with funeral costs. If you would like to make a donation you can do so through any National Bank and Trust under The Sean Frechette Memorial Fund.
