WAYNESVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - In the crowded hallways of Waynesville High School, students are counting down the days until schools out - including Spencer Wells.
"Im feeling excited," Wells said. "The final week of schools' coming. I can't wait for it."
He's also smiling, because for the first time, he says he has a plan as to how he's going to pay for college. And that starts with first attending a community college to complete his general education requirements.
"I'd like to do that because it would probably be easier after you transfer, and also it would be cheaper."
In six months, Team Spencer and the Staffans have worked together to eliminate $32,000 in debt by paying off two vehicles and selling a third while using Craig's list to sell unwanted items.
As Spencer hits the books for his final weeks of high school, he gives his family high grades for their support.
"It feels good to have family to have my back because I don't have to go through this alone. If it gets to me I can lean on somebody else."
