SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - A Springfield man was just accused of his 14th OVI offense.
William Newman, 53, appeared in Clark County Court Thursday to face charges stemming from a crash Monday, February 25.
Troopers say he caused a three car crash on Ridgewood Road in Northridge. They believe he was drunk at the time.
This is the third OVI case against Newman in the last six months. It is his 14th arrest since 1978.
Newman told the judge he was remorseful for the crash. He told 2 NEWS that he had a few beers and hung out with the wrong crowd. He said he is getting help for his drinking.
He faces charges of driving under suspension, operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and failure to control his vehicle.
Newman hasn't had a valid driver's license since 1984.
