FT. LORAMIE, Ohio (WDTN) - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash.

Crews say Ina Smith, 50, of Minster, was trapped inside the wreckage in the 3000 block of Canal Road 1 north of Fort Loramie.

First responders arrived on the scene just after 2:30 pm.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A German Shepherd was in the car with Smith at the time.  It was injured and removed to a pet clinic for treatment.  Family members have since picked up the dog.

Investigators say Smith lost control on a curve and struck a tree.
