Teacher investigated for 'inappropriate contact'

SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - A Sidney school teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending a police investigation.

Joe Czupryn, a Sidney High School math teacher, is currently under investigation by the Sidney Police Department on allegations of inappropriate contact with students.

Police believe text messaging communication occurred between the male teacher and female students.

When school district officials were made aware of these allegations, the Sidney Police Department was notified immediately.

Czupryn was placed on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation by the Sidney Police Department.

District administration is working cooperatively with police to assist in the investigation.
