SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - The president of Shelby County's Humane Society was sentenced Thursday for misusing funds.
Court records report that Michael Lescowitch was sentenced to 10 days in jail and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution.
The organization failed to file the proper documentation to continue its non-profit status, but continued to make purchases for 3 years, avoiding paying sales tax.
Treasurer Angela Bray was sentenced for her role last month. She was ordered to do 40 hours of community service and will be placed under community control.
