Deputy struck while assisting at accident scene

SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - A Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy was injured Wednesday morning while assisting at an accident scene.

Deputy Jason Seger was on his way to work in his personal vehicle when he came upon the accident at the intersection of SR 47 and Dawson Road, according to  Sheriff John Lenhart. 

Seger stopped to help and was struck by a vehicle that was unrelated to the first accident.

Seger was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital, and later to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident happened at 6:40 a.m.
