EATON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Preble County teen was arrested Tuesday in connection to a bomb threat at Preble Shawnee High School.
Deputies were called to the school around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon after school administrators discovered a note that suggested a bomb would go off on Wednesday between 7:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., according to Sheriff Michael Simpson.
The school was evacuated, and while K-9's from Miami University, the Dayton Police Dept., and Dayton Airport Police swept the building for explosives, a student was identified as a suspect.
Simpson said his detectives later arrested a 16-year-old student from the high school after determining the student was responsible for writing the note.
The suspect was taken to the West Central Juvenile Detention Center in Troy. Formal charges are pending.
No sort of explosive device was located.
