WEST ALEXANDRIA, Ohio (WDTN) - Funeral services are set for the West Alexandria native killed in Afghanistan.
Army National Guard Specialist Cody Suggs died after a non-combat related incident.
He was a member of the 1487th Transportation Company based in Piqua.
Visitation is set for Sunday, March 17 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Salem Lutheran Church at 70 East Dayton Street in West Alexandria.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am at the church.
West Alexandra Mayor Carol Lunsford is asking residents to decorate light poles and trees in their yards in red, white and blue in Cody's honor.
She also hopes residents will line the streets leading to the funeral services on Monday.
Suggs was a 2009 graduate of Twin Valley South High School.
He is survived by his parents, grandparents and sister.
