BROOKVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Police asked for the public's help to identify an elderly woman found in Brookville.
Officials said a newspaper delivery driver found her unresponsive, lying on the ground in the 800 block of Shaney Lane just before 7 AM Sunday. We're told she was wearing pajama style clothing, no shoes and no coat. Police said she was possibly in her 70s. There is a vertical scar above her left eye and a scar on the corner of her right eye.
Attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The police chief said there are no signs of foul play, but an autopsy has been scheduled to determine cause of death.
Police said the woman is not a resident of the local nursing home, and she did not live in nearby neighborhoods. They believe she had been walking for some time.
If you have any information that could help officers identify the woman, contact the Englewood Regional Dispatch Center at 937-833-4357 or the City of Brookville Police Department at 937-833-2001.
