TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Over the weekend, Tiffany Harris was shot and killed inside her Trotwood home.

While the shooting is still under investigation, officials said it appeared to be a murder-suicide.

Harris' husband of 16 years, James M. Hicks, was also dead with an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.

Trotwood Police said the couple's two children were inside the home when the shooting happened.

On Tuesday, family members said they were traumatized and trying to cope with Tiffany's death.

Tiffany's sisters told 2 NEWS she was a loving mother, a giving person and the sole provider for her family.

They said Tiffany was trying to leave the relationship when the shooting happened.

"He took a coward way out and he's hurt his kids. Now they have no mother or no father," said Tasha Cannon, Harris' sister. "The kids are damaged, I'm damaged and I know my sister is damaged. We don't have our mother or our father, but we had each other".

There is a fund set up at Wright Patt Credit Union to help Tiffany's family pay for her funeral expenses. If you would like to make a donation, ask for the  "Tiffany A. Harris Fund"
