TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Three teens were taken into custody late Tuesday night after they led police on a ten to fifteen minute chase through Harrison Township in a stolen SUV.

Around 8:30 p.m., a woman called police after the vehicle was stolen from outside her home in the 4000 block of Nevada Avenue in Trotwood.

Her three year old son was inside.

Hours later, Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies spotted the SUV at the McDonald's on Main Street in Harrison Township around 11:00 p.m.

We're told a 16-year-old boy was driving, another 16-year-old  boy was inside, as well as an 18-year-old man.

When deputies tried to pull them over, the short chase began. It ended at Malvern and Golfview Avenues, where the suspects ditched the car and ran.

All three suspects were arrested shortly after.

According to officials, they had dropped the three year old boy off on the street a short distance from his home.

Trotwood Sergeant Daniel Health wanted to remind you "If you're not in your vehicle, turn your vehicle off. Never leave your children in your vehicle unattended, and definitely don't leave them unattended in a vehicle that's running."

Officials said the 18-year-old involved had been in trouble with police before, for aggravated robbery and theft.

It was still unclear if all three teens were together when the SUV was stolen.

Once officials determine those details, the suspects involved will be facing charges for theft of a motor vehicle, as well as kidnapping.

We're told the mother is not in trouble.
