DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Police have made an arrest in connection to a stabbing that occurred Monday morning.

The victim, a 31-year-old Dayton woman, was found underneath the train tressel in the 800 block of Monument Street in Dayton just after 3:30 a.m, bleeding from the head.

She told officers her boyfriend, 43-year-old Eric Cooper, cut her with a pocket knife while the two were fighting.

Cooper was later arrested at East Fifth and Dutoit streets.

When officers approached Cooper, they said he asked,  "What did she say I did?".

Cooper was taken into custody without incident and booked on felonious assault charge.

Payton was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
