Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - Congressman Mike Turner stopped by the 2 News studios to update us on the future of advanced unmanned aerial systems.
2 News business reporter Dan Edwards asked Turner what he thought the Dayton region's chances were of getting one of the six highly-coveted FAA test sites.
"With Wright Patterson Air Force Base as an anchor gives us a leg up if you will on being able to argue how we can contribute to the overall advancement for our country of UAV's and UAS's" Turner said.
Turner also added, " With Wright-Patt we have the scientists, the engineers and the knowledge base here that can mold the future of this technology, much like the Wright Brothers molded the future of aviation."
Turner said he hopes a decision on the location of the test sites could come as early as this summer.
