MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) - A man is arrested after leading police on a high-speed pursuit through several cities and crashing into a Riverside police cruiser.

Benjamin Baker, 20, was taken into custody Friday night and faces charges of felonious assault, resisting arrest, and OVI.

Riverside police initially attempted to stop Baker on Linden Avenue for a traffic violation around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Instead of pulling over, Baker took off and led police on a hot pursuit through several neighborhoods in Riverside, Kettering, and Moraine.

The chase ended when Baker collided with a police cruiser near the intersection of Dorothy Lane and Springboro Pike in Moraine.

According to police, during the pursuit Baker tried to ram three other police cruisers, including two from Kettering and one from Riverside.

The officer Baker crashed into was taken to the hospital for his injuries but is expected to recover. Baker was also taken to an area hospital before being booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

The incident remains under investigation.
