DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A 43-year-old Dayton man was sentenced to life in prison for raping children under the age of 13.
Derrick E. Mayes, of Dayton, was convicted on 25 counts of sex offenses he committed between 1988 and 2008. He was arrested in 2009. A total of ten victims were identified as having been sexually abused over a twenty year period of time.
Mayes will also be designated as a tier III sex offender for life, meaning if he is ever released from prison, he will be required to register his address with the Sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.
