WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Senator Sherrod Brown visited a West Carrollton restaurant on Saturday and called for the passage of a highway bill.

El Meson is located near the I-75 modernization project and Sen. Brown said the expiration of the transportation bill will affect the development of the Dayton area.

When the bill expires June 30, multiple roadwork projects will be halted.

Sen. Brown said he does not want that to happen.  "It not only puts people to work immediately, it builds, it will help restaurants like El Meson. It will help small businesses. It creates a foundation for job growth," he added.

Sen. Brown said ohio will lose nearly $1.4 billion dollars if the bill is not renewed.
