Caretaker shoots possible burglar in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton Police were on the scene of a shooting Friday night a a local temple.

Officers responded to the Santa Clara Apostolic Temple at 60 Santa Clara Avenue around 10:20 pm.

Police said it appears that a caretaker caught someone trying to break into the basement, so he fired his gun, and hit the suspect.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate, but the victim is expected to recover.

Police are still investigating.
