RTA Cityfolk Festival weekend detours

DAYTON, Ohio (RTA) - RTA will divert several regular bus routes through July 1 because of street closings in place during the Cityfolk Festival beginning Friday and Dayton’s Independence Day fireworks celebration on Sunday. All streets are expected to open to regular traffic by 2 a.m. on Monday, July 2.

Street closings and reroutes will begin today at 9 a.m. on Patterson between Monument and First St., and at 6 p.m. on Riverside between White Allen and Monument, St. Clair between Monument and First, and Monument between Patterson and St. Clair. The reroutes affect Routes 5, 11, 16, 17, 22, 18, 19, X1A, and X1B as follows:

Route 5:
Inbound from Monument, left on Webster, right on Second, right on Jefferson, left on Monument and then resume the regular route. Outbound will follow regular routing.

Route 11:
Inbound from First St., left on Webster, right on Second, left on St. Clair. Outbound will follow regular routing.

Route 16 starting at 9 a.m.:
Outbound from Jefferson, left on Monument, right on Main, right on Helena, left on Riverside. Inbound from Riverside, right on Helena, left on Main, left on First, and right on St. Clair.

Routes 17 and 22:
Inbound will continue on Webster, right on Second, left on St. Clair.
During the fireworks on July 1, outbound Route 17 will use First St. to left on Keowee before resuming regular routing. During the fireworks, inbound routes will continue on Keowee to right on Monument, left on Webster, right on Second, left on Patterson. Outbound will follow regular routing.

Routes 18, 19, X1A, X1B:
Inbound from Monument to left on Webster, right on Second, and left on St. Clair.
Outbound will follow regular routing.

The following reroutes will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday during the fireworks:

Beginning with the 4:50 p.m. line-up on Sunday, July 1st, Jefferson St. will be closed to all traffic.

Routes 7 and 12:
Outbound from Jefferson, left on 3rd St., right on Main to regular routing.
Inbound will follow regular routing.

Routes 8, 9, and 14
Outbound from Jefferson, left on 3rd St., right on Main, left on Monument to regular routing. Inbound will follow regular routing.

Route 16
Outbound from Jefferson, left on 3rd St., right on Main, right on Helena, left on Riverside. Inbound from Riverside, right on Helena, left on Main, right on Monument, left on 3rd, right on Jefferson.

Extra buses after fireworks
Following the City of Dayton Fireworks on Sunday, July 1, RTA will provide extra buses on Monument St. between Jefferson and Main Sts. for the following routes: 1, 2, and 4 West; 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, and 17 North; 8 South.
