DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton fire crews were called to the Great Miami River near Riverview Avenue Friday evening to make a river rescue.

The victim walked into the river, apparently attempting to commit suicide.  Crews say the undertow pulled him toward the low dam.

The man was rescued and transported to the hospital for treatment.

No word on the victim's condition.

Dayton police and fire continue to investigate.
