ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Englewood Police released surveillance video Friday of a purse-snatching that took place in the Walmart parking lot while the victim was standing right next to her vehicle.

The woman was putting her purchases in the car and left the passenger side door open. While she was on the driver's side, a couple walked out of the store, up to the car, and took off running with the purse in hand.

"Your car is kind of like home base. You get back to it and put your stuff in there, but if it isn't totally secured in a small amount of time someone can take advantage of that. It can be very frightening," said Englewood Police Sgt. Mike Lang.

The pair was also spotted inside the store on Thursday night by a different surveillance camera. Police said there was a third suspect who served as the getaway driver.

Anyone with information about the identity of the purse grabbers is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
