TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - A Trotwood mother was arrested after police said she lied about her child's abduction.
Investigators said Dana Jordan, 30, reported her 4-year-old daughter missing Saturday night. Jordan reportedly told police she left her daughter unattended in the vehicle when she went inside her home in the 300 block of Burman avenue. Jordan stated to police when she went outside her vehicle was gone.
An amber alert was issued, but hours later police found the toddler sleeping on a neighbor's couch.
"The child and her 6-year-old sister were both sound asleep on the couch," said Sergeant Brent Rasor with Trotwood police. "They were fully clothed with blankets. We had them checked out by medics and everything was fine."
The car Jordan reported stolen was recovered a few blocks away on Ellsworth drive about an hour after the amber alert was issued.
Police said its unclear why the mother lied. Jordan is facing suspicion of inducing panic and filing a false police report charges.
The case is under investigation.
