RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) - Riverside police are on the hunt for two men who they said attempted to lure an 11-year-old girl into their SUV.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Sunday.  Police are not revealing the exact location, but said it occurred in a neighborhood in the northern part of Riverside.

According to police, the girl was playing outside on her neighborhood playground when she noticed two men in a dark green Jeep, possibly a Cherokee, circling the area.

The girl said when her friend left the men stopped the SUV and told the girl to come to them.  The girl did not comply.   When she ran to get help the suspects drove away.

Riverside police put out a state-wide alert to all agencies to be on the lookout for these two individuals.

"We are looking for two men, possibly of African American or of Hispanic descent.  They were not wearing shirts and had on blue jeans.  Both of the suspects had a substantial amount of tattoos," said Sergeant Harold Jones with the Riverside police department.  "The men did get out of the vehicle which shows their intent."

The girl was not hurt.

Investigators want to remind parents to take the time to talk to their children about strangers and what to do if in a similar situation.

The suspects are facing attempted child enticement.

If you have any information you are asked to contact your local law enforcement agency or dial 911.
