Freeh report called a failure

Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - For the first time, the family of the late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has released a response to the university's report commissioned by the board of trustees.

Former attorney general Dick Thornburgh, representing the Paterno family, said the so-called Freeh report was a failure that does not meet the basic requirements of a thorough, objective and fair investigation.

Penn state hired former F-B-I director Louis Freeh to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal.

His report, released last July found coach Paterno and three top university administrators concealed child sex abuse allegations against Sandusky.

Freeh stands by his report, and says the coach should have done more to stop Sandusky.

In a candid interview with Katie Couric, Sue Paterno talks about her late husband, their relationship with the Sandusky's, and her family's search for the truth.

The complete interview will air Monday, Feb. 11 at  4 pm on the Katie Show exclusively on WDTN, Channel 2.
