HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - Concerned residents packed the Huber Heights School Board meeting Thursday evening.
They wanted to hear about potential cuts including a resource officer.
School leaders say the cuts are necessary after a failed November levy.
Residents say cutting teachers is one thing, but in light of the recent tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, some question cutting a security officer.
The changes proposed also include laying off teachers and support staff, cutting field trips, increasing class sizes and changing the length of the school day.
The superintendent will inform the state of the proposals, but the board will wait to make any moves until it hears from the state after the first of the year.
