MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio (WDTN) -

Law enforcement officials will be out in full force this weekend looking for impaired drivers.

A number of checkpoints will be held across the Miami Valley.

In Montgomery County, a zero refusal sobriety checkpoint will be held at Northbound State Route 49 and Kimmel Road in Clay Township.

In Greene County, officials will hold an OVI checkpoint on Indian Ripple Road, west of I-675 from 11 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday. The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols.

The goals of sobriety checkpoints are to provide public awareness to the consequences of driving under the influence, reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes, and make the roadways a safer place to drive.

OVI checkpoints are funded by state and federal grant funds.
