KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - As many people work to keep their New Year's resolutions about diets, Kettering Medical Center has kicked off a program to help curb mindless eating.
Susan McCloud, a wellness and and health educator with Kettering Medical Center, said mindless and emotional eating leads to obesity. Food fuels life, and McCloud said she isn't trying to restrict it. She told 2 News people who eat when they are sad, glad or mad often abuse the food and consequently, abuse their health.
Kettering Medical Center has developed a workshop called "Am I Hungry?" aimed at helping people understand what true needs are- without food. The program is held Wednesdays beginning January 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Kettering Medical Center, 3535 Southern Blvd. in Kettering. The first session will be held in the Schuster Conference Center.
