Miamisburg, Ohio (WDTN) - Miamisburg Police have released the name of the man struck and killed Monday, Feb. 18 near the Dayton Mall.

William John Kish was walking his dog along State Route 725 near Mall Woods Drive around 9:30 p.m. when he was struck, according to investigators.

Police said Kish had just crossed eastbound SR 725 and was standing on the concrete median when he walked out onto the westbound lanes and was struck by a car driven by Kyle DeWine of Dayton.

Kish was rushed to Kettering Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His dog was also killed.

Police said DeWine was uninjured, but visibly shaken.

According to police , no charges will be filed against DeWine as Kish was at fault, trying to cross where there were no crosswalks.
