DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The mild temperatures we've been feeling will bring spring time thunderstorms to the Miami Valley.  A line of showers and thunderstorms has already developed out west and will move into the area early Wednesday morning.

The heaviest rain and thunderstorms will occur between 6 a.m. 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik says "Some of the thunderstorms will produce gusty winds near 30 to 40 miles per hour."

Winds were gusty throughout much of Tuesday reaching near 30 mph at times.

Once the cold front moves through late Wednesday, temperatures will drop and rain will quickly change over to snow.  Winds switch direction to the west and northwest allowing colder air to filter across the Miami Valley.

Temperatures fall into the 40s by Wednesday evening and drop to 20 degrees by early Thursday morning.
