DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Two Dayton Public Schools seventh graders are apart of a six-week physician-scientist residential training program this summer in Texas.
Seventh graders Julia Tomlinson of Rosa Parks PreK-8 and Tory Sanders of World of Wonder PreK-8 at Residence Park were chosen from a field of 200 nationally after navigating a rigorous screening process.
They learned recently that they will be part of the elite program on the campus of Southern Methodist University to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
If gifted minority students meet grade requirements they may reapply in high school and college and receive a funded internship with the National Institute of Health at the end of the 10-year program.
Learn more about these talented students on School Patrol, beginning at 5 on 2 News Monday, March 18.
Rescuers say they arrived at the scene around 7:30 pm to find a 15-year old girl…
