Doggie treat job helps teens in crisis

Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - A job training program is taking homeless teens off the streets and placing them into productive, life-changing jobs.

Daybreak helps over 2000 homeless teens each year and a portion of them are a part of a unique job training program that's making gourmet doggie treats.
 
The dog treats are called Lindy's, named after the dog of the anonymous donor who helped finance the creation of the dog treat company from their single location on Wayne Avenue.

The dog treats come in several flavors and are varied as the backgrounds of the homeless teens who help make them.

Even the head baker at Lindy's, Noell Brown has a story to tell. The college graduate found herself homeless until she found work at Daybreak.

It's an inspirational story she gladly shares with the 50 homeless teens each year who are working on changing their lives and learning important job skills with this unique program run by the  Daybreak Homeless shelter.
