DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Detectives are investigating the death of a Dayton woman.
Police were called to 160 West Parkwood Drive around 9:00 Tuesday night after neighbors reported hearing shots fired and people running between houses.
When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Jillian Miles lying inside the house near the front door.
She was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where doctors discovered she had been shot. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said two children, a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old, were in the house when discovered Miles' body.
The coroner is awaiting autopsy results to determine the official cause of death.
Police have not released any information on a motive or identified a suspect.
