DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Twenty Dayton police officers are back in the Miami Valley after Inauguration duty in Washington, D.C.
Lt. Gregg Gaby led the group who were deputized by the US Marshals to help during President Obama's Inauguration.
Dayton officers were assigned to a post along the parade route. They had to report for duty at 4:00 am Monday morning.
"It's an honor and a privilege to have Dayton asked to be a part of something that massive. But, not only that, but something that is that historical and I think all of the officers really appreciated getting to go," said Lt. Gaby.
The Dayton officers were among 2,600 from around the country called in to assist.
Their trip didn't cost the city anything. The federal government foot the bill.
