DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton man was indicted Friday, accused of causing a fatal crash that killed a 7-year old boy.

Jessie Combs, 23, of Dayton, faces a charge of negligent vehicular homicide.

Prosecutors say he turned left into the path of an oncoming pickup truck on Riverside Drive near Ridge Avenue on April 18, 2012.

The son of Combs' girlfriend, Derek Whitaker, 7, was killed on impact.

Combs did not have a valid driver's license.

He is scheduled into court January 24.  He faces up to a year and half in prison and the suspension of his driver's license.
