Dayton funds refugee housing plan

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A plan to expand a refugee housing development in Dayton got the go-ahead at Wednesday night's Dayton City Commission meeting.

Four new homes will be built in the Twin Towers neighborhood using funds from a federal stimulus program.

City leaders voted to move $800,000 dollars from another project that's no longer in the works.

"It's unique for us, we are happy to have that flexibility and it does allow those funds to stay in this community and allow jobs to do construction trade and also provide great housing for future families," said Aaron Sorrell, Planning and Community Development.
